Vaastu & Bells !!!!

What is really significant about bells? Bells at churches, temples & Buddhist Monasteries. Feng Shui too recommends bells hung on the Main door. The Wind chimes too have strings/bells and are used in variety of ways. The metal bells in copper and brass have been a tradition with their origin and have adorned the necks of cattle, camel & sheep since ages. Bells are even rung while celebrating Independence days of few countries, Xmas Celebrations and used by Ships too for signalling.

The sound produced by ringing the bells is really charismatic. We might shut our ears to any loud noise but are carried away with the sounds produced by the bell. No matter how loud it is; it doesn't seem to bother us. It is known to keep negative energies at bay. Each bell would produce a sound that is distinct and science has proven that such a sound unites our left and right brain. Ringing the bell in the North Direction at Home/Sacred place/Brahmasthaal (Centre of Home) can work wonders.

Doesn't the expression "Wedding Bells" ring any bells!!!!!!

Does your Kitchen & Toilet have this in common......

Common wall for the Toilets and kitchen have become a common practice in the apartments these days. Lest the Builders would realize its ill effect.  Water is known for its properties to dissolve impurities. We bathe and cleanse in toilets and even though tend to keep the region dry, some water does seep through and gets soaked by the walls too.

The kitchen sharing such a wall is prone to the negative Vastu in the surrounding. Kitchen is considered a pious zone in the house. We cook our meals there and as they say “We are what we eat”. If we were to even consider the Five Elements in Vastu, Kitchen represents Fire and the Toilets, Water. Water and Fire are never compatible with each other. This is also the reason for having the kitchen sink not too close to the Cooking Gas/Cooking Inductions

Importance of Sun in Vastu

Importance of Sun in Vastu

Direction of the Sun is an important consideration while constructing houses based on the principles of Vaastu Shastra. The Earth orbiting the Sun receives the heat and the light from it. It is indeed a life giver to our planet.

While we design official buildings and homes based on the Vaastu principles, it becomes extremely important to consider the exposure of such buildings and the direction which is exposed to sunlight.

Nevertheless we should not forget that the Sun rays are a source of warmth and light too, which is essential for the well being and general health of the inhabitants of any dwelling.

The science of Vaastu lays emphasis on the directions which receive the positive effects of the rays from Sun and this would, as a result have a direct impact on the rising temperatures in such directions.

Also the rooms in the East and North directions need to be kept well lighted and what best could be than natural sunlight as the source.
A well lit room in these directions not only aids in providing financial stability to the inhabitants but also helps in improving the familial bonds and relations. The interiors of such rooms need to be bright in colour with soft shades on the wall with and thin curtains on the windows to allow the cosmic energies of the sun rays to positively charge the surroundings. The North/East regions in a commercial building can have wall of windows of huge glass panels to allow the sun rays to seep inside the building and energize the environment.

Abundant sunlight from the West direction would disturb the good Vaastu from this direction.

Since this direction relates to the planet Saturn in astrology, getting abundant heat and light in this direction would result in affecting the health of inhabitants of such a site.

In today’s world  most of the shopping malls are constructed with the roof open to the sky. The traditional houses built in the olden days also had the central portion of the homes open to sky. The rays of the Sun hitting such a central portion or 'Brahmasthal' of any home would energize the effect of cosmic rays in this portion. As such the 'Brahmasthal' is considered to be very sacred and any negative element in its surrounding should be checked.

Since our daily activities require more energy during the day, homes should have the sunrays falling off the morning Sun in the rooms where we are likely to be present during these times. Blocking the rays of Sun seems to be one of the trends in today’s modern lifestyle. We come across apartments with their Kitchens

and Bedrooms and Bathrooms facing the Sun and in order to avoid the glare of the morning Sun we cover the windows with either tinted glass or thick curtains to block these rays. Little do we realize that by doing so we causing doing more harm than protecting ourselves from the glares.

We also tend to use more of artificial and electric lighting to illuminate our homes and offices. It’s time we greet the Sun. The morning Sun rays falling on the beds in bedroom results in disinfecting them of germs and keep them crisp and thus we can enjoy the benefits of peaceful sleep as we retire to our bed. Buildings and tall trees right outside the door/windows tend to block the sun rays also affect the Vaastu of homes or offices.

Some other ways we can include the power of the sun in our daily lives are:

Worshipping Sun God by offering water to the rising Sun helps in receiving the beneficial cosmic rays into the site as the energy from these rays blend with the flowing water as it drops on the ground.

In Yoga, the Surya Namaskar

is considered to make our bodies the medium between the Earth and the Sun thereby rejuvenating our bodies and minds.

The Vaastu of any house/office gets enhanced with windows, balconies and doors in the East. Keeping them open in the mornings and allowing the sun rays to enter the premises reduces the negative energy in and around the place.

The washrooms/bathrooms in these directions which are to be strictly used for bathing while getting exposed to the golden Sun rays give a charismatic effect. While at work we should take care that we do not block the golden rays of the morning Sun with blinds on windows.

The Sun sets in the West and though the rays are not visible to our eyes, yet the rays of the setting Sun entering the home/office premises does not promote good Vaastu. For this very reason the washrooms and other water bodies – aquariums, small decorative fountains are not recommended to be placed in this direction. The water has a property of absorbing the radiations and energies in its surroundings. The non visible rays get absorbed in the water and affect the good Vaastu of that particular site.

Vastu remedies for a site are plenty and the Vastu defects of any site can be removed with proper placement of furniture and positioning of articles at homes and offices without rebuilding and reconstructing. By doing so, we create harmony, positive energy and encourage healing in not only our physical surroundings, but also of our mind, body and soul.
